The former Destiny’s Child singer, Michelle Williams, has opened her doors to the world by giving fans a more in-depth look into her day to day life.
Michelle, 37, new reality show premiered on Oprah’s OWN Network on November 1st.
Michelle is engaged to Pastor Chad Johnson, and the series follows their everyday life. The duo got engaged on March 21st after previously meeting at a spiritual retreat.
“I was in a horrible, dark place,” she told People. “I just needed to go somewhere where I could get a message of hope and restoration, rejuvenation — get connected to God.”
On his part, Chad told the same outlet:
“I was getting ready to turn 40, she’s in her late 30s. Neither of us has been married, had children, and I think you get to a place sometimes where you’re just so career-driven, so focused on what you’re doing at the moment, that it’s a comfort zone. … Both of us were in very similar places on a personal level.”
Williams is that one member of the famous singing trio (Destiny Child), starring Beyonce and Kelly Rowland that we don’t know too much about.
But Williams is the founder of a brand called Believe at Home by Michelle Williams, which is a home bedding collection.
Williams has also battled depression.
On an appearance on The Talk, Williams admitted that her depression eventually turned suicidal thoughts after the group disbanded.
She also spoke out about the need for a more open discussion of mental illness, saying,
“I think at the age of 25, had I had a name to what I was feeling at the time, I would have disclosed that I’ve been suffering from depression.”
In 2017, at a spiritual retreat in Arizona, Williams met the sports chaplain, and the two immediately hit it off.
“I mean, he was cute, but I did not go to flirt with the pastor!” Williams recently told PEOPLE.
Johnson was also taken by Williams too.
“I tried to roll in with some mac daddy game — and I tried to flirt a little bit and said something like, ‘How about you and I connect sometime?’ And right away, she texted right back with one word and six question marks behind it: ‘Connect??????’”, said Johnson during an interview with People magazine.
Johnson has also come under fire from critics accusing him and his family members of being Donald Trump supporters.
