When two families merge, there’s no telling how things will go. But the best-case scenario? You end up in a seemingly blissful situation like Lisa Bonet, Jason Momoa and Lenny Kravitz.
Bonet and her current husband, Momoa, have built such a good relationship with her ex, Kravitz, that the guys are good friends. So much so that they now even have matching rings. Momoa bought himself and Kravitz matching bone skull rings to thank the “Fly Away” singer for supporting him while he hosted a recent episode of Saturday Night Live.
“I’m a huge fan of the artists I meet on Instagram love spreading the aloha,” Momoa wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of him and Kravitz wearing the rings. “ I got @lennykravitz a present made by @leroyswoodentattoos amazing bone skull ring. Check him out insta. Mahalo lenny for coming to support me on @nbcsnl aloha.”
Momoa, whose new Aquaman movie premieres later this month, has also built a healthy relationship with his stepdaughter Zoe Kravitz. This time last year, the superhero posted a photo with Zoe’s Elle magazine cover with a sweet caption. “Congrats @zoeisabellakravitz You are one of the greatest humans I’ve ever met I’m so proud of you,” he said. “ See u soon. Love papa bear.”
Zoe herself opened up about how close-knit her blended family is in a 2015 Ocean Drive interview. “They have so much love for each other,” the Big Little Lies star told the magazine. “It makes things so easy that my parents are still very close. My dad and my stepdad get along really well, and my dad loves and is close with my brother and sister. It’s really beautiful. As long as everyone can be in the same room together, and have love for each other, it’s totally healthy.”
Bonet’s positive attitude at the time of her split from Lenny—they got a divorce in 1993 and she met Momoa several years later in 2004—might be to thank for their happy life today. In a rare interview, the actress talked to Porter about her relationship with her ex-husband. “I didn’t want to pass on those heirlooms, and this fresh wound of a divorce,” Bonet said about wanting to reconcile with Lenny for the sake of their daughter. “I think there are probably times when these thresholds can either sink you or you can see who you are and rise and dust yourself off.”
Of her blended family today, Bonet says it’s “fantastic.” She added, “It’s full-on family love.”
