Less than three days before Christmas, Shemar Moore, 50, shocked his fans when he announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19. The revelation he made on social media while reminding his followers that he remains positive.

The 50-year-old actor took to Instagram and wrote, “I HAVE COVID!!!! Just found out moments ago. I am gonna stay wrapping presents, Yes, I have been tested and told that I have Covid. I thought I had food poisoning; chills, aches all day today, still can smell, taste, no cough, no runny nose, I feel fine now. I have to accept the test results. I feel fine now, but I have to be responsible!!!! He also pointed out to his fans that things haven’t been going well with him for a while. He wrote, “My Xmas n New Years is not gonna be the best… my last year and a half have not been the best… but I WILL BE OKAY!!!!”

Ever the optimist, he concluded the Instagram post, writing, “I BELIEVE in the sun shining through the rain!!! Stay safe and appreciate everything and everybody you have and had!!” He then added the hashtag #wearamask

The year hasn’t been favorable to the S.W.A.T. actor. Earlier this year, he lost his mother. And while he is positive now, his mother’s loss saw him question his ability to live without her. Writing in an Instagram post in February, he said, “I stay stunned. I am heartbroken. I don’t know life without this woman.”

Moore became known for his roles in 440 episodes of “The Young and the Restless” as far back as 1994. His reported symptoms are chills and all-day body aches, but his condition is not severe if his sense of smell and taste is anything to go by.
