Actress Lela Rochon’s daughter appeared at her current senior prom wearing an elegant red gown that at one time belonged to her popular mother.

Lela Rochon’s daughter Asia Rochon Fuqua wore the same dress her mother wore over 25 years ago when she attended the premiere of Waiting to Exhale. Rochon was so excited at how beautiful her oh-so-grown child appeared in it.

The actress posted many pictures of her daughter in the dress, recalling her shining moments in the past years. “Yes I saved the dress (heart emoji)… wasn’t sure why but now I know #vintage,” she captioned. She also acknowledged the makeup artist Adam Christopher.

The 57-year-old actress’s series of uploaded photos also highlighted a side-by-side picture of herself in the gown 25 years ago and a recent photo of herself and her daughter together. Rochon also posted a picture of herself, Asia, and Antoine Fuqua, her husband and famed director.

Asia looked gorgeous in the strapless red dress, which highlighted a designed bodice top and short-chain.

Many friends and followers commented on the post. Holly Robinson Peete commented with some heart-eye emojis. Vivica A. Fox also commented, “OMG!! FABULOUS!” Gabrielle Union wrote, “So so so beautiful!”

Asia is set to attend the University of Southern California.

Waiting to Exhale was the first video to be adapted from a book by Terry McMillan. The historic 1995 movie that covered the love lives of four friends residing in Phoenix, Arizona, was directed by Forest Whitaker and featured Angela Bassett, Rochon, Whitney Houston, and Loretta Devine.

Waiting to Exhale earned over $80 million globally and won many NAACP Image Awards for both the video and the iconic soundtrack produced by Babyface.

Rochon’s husband is scheduled to release his next video, Infinite, to Paramount + in June, featuring the science-fiction film stars Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Wahlberg plays a schizophrenic man getting visions of the memories of his previous lives.

Rochon has been married to Fuqua since 1999, and they’ve got two kids together. In addition, Fuqua has a son from his past relationship and two granddaughters.
