‘Clue’ now playing at Cleveland Play House is brilliantly directed and staged.  Base upon the 1985 Paramount movie written by Sandy Rusting and screenplay by Jonathan Lynn…CPH knocks it out of the ballpark.

Murder, mayhem and mystery.  ‘Clue is set in New England within an aristocratic mansion in 1954. In the opening scene when the lights went out, a sound effect made me jump in my seat.  From that point on it was hilarious, mystical non-stop fast paced entertainment that kept me totally enthralled to every movement and sound in the production.

Withholding any spoilers, mysteries and thrillers are my favorite genres. ‘Clue intertwines those genres with satire and comedy, devising a perfect recipe for success.

Kudos to director Casey Hushion.  The synergy of the cast, set and sound created a production in complete harmony.

The cast was up to the task.  I must admit, Mark Price’s (cast as Wadsworth) summation of the nights events was astonishing.

Finally, Scenic Designer Lee Savage and Sound Designer Jeff Human created provocative characters out of their prospective crafts.

‘Clue’, now playing at Cleveland Play House in the Allen Theatre through February 23rd.  More information available here.
