The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is thrilled to announce the return of Think & Drink with the Extinct! This 21+ event invites science enthusiasts to spend an evening at the Museum digging into the latest discoveries with our scientific experts.
Celebrate the longest night of the year with us as we raise a glass in commemoration of the 2023 winter solstice. Guests are invited to wonder about winter traditions and the reasons for the seasons as they wander through the Museum’s new Visitor Hall, which showcases our most iconic attractions—including Lucy, Balto, Haplocanthosaurus (Happy), and Dunkleosteus (Dunk).
The evening will feature live animal encounters; special solstice programming at 7pm and 7:30pm in the Nathan and Fannye Shafran Planetarium; music and dancing from Burning River Entertainment Group; and meet-and-greets with Museum naturalists, educators, wildlife specialists, and scientists. Visitors will also have the chance to learn from our partners at the NASA Graphics and Visualization Lab, Cleveland Astronomical Society, and Geauga Park District Observatory Park.
Thanks to our partners at Fat Head’s Brewery, a limited supply of Dunkelweizen beer will be available for purchase as we celebrate the opening of our Visitor Hall and the return of Dunk—one of our favorite specimens.
Museum doors will open at 6pm. Limited warm and cold foods will be available for purchase in Origins Café. Beer and wine will be available for purchase until 8:30pm.
