The Cleveland Branch of the NAACP will commemorate 108 years of service at its Freedom Fund Virtual Event on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. The celebration will livestream on clevelandnaacp.org.
The evening will convene a panel of notables from various NAACP Branches across the country; Leslie Redmond, Esq., President, Minneapolis Branch; Reverend James Major Woodall, President, Georgia State Conference, and our own Danielle Sydnor, President, Cleveland Branch. The panel will be moderated by WEWS News Anchor, Danita Harris.
In keeping with this year’s theme, “The Marathon Continues” the NAACP will be honoring Michael Taylor, Senior Vice President for PNC Bank, along with Patricia Ramsey, Vice President, Fifth Third Bank with the Community Leadership Award. There will also be special recognition for all “Essential Workers” and the “Victims of Racial Violence.”
This year’s virtual event will be a true celebration of the work the NAACP has done in Greater Cleveland and nationally. We are proud of our history of fighting for civil rights, social justice, and perpetuating financial literacy by expanding opportunities to the citizens of the communities we serve. The NAACP’s mission is to ensure the political, educational, social and economic equality of rights for all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
