Based on the original ‘80s TV series and two action-packed films, the new CBS drama The Equalizer stars award-winning actress and singer Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall. To most of the world, she’s a divorced, single mother raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, Robyn is an anonymous guardian angel who goes by the alias “The Equalizer.” Using her skills as a former CIA operative, she helps those with nowhere else to turn.

When will season 2 of The Equalizer premiere on CBS?

The Equalizer has officially been renewed for season 2. The show announced its second installment on social media with a short clip captioned: “An Equalizer has to read between the lines, and these lines are lit for #TheEqualizer to return for Season 2.”

Leading lady Queen Latifah also shared the news on her Instagram and gave fans a shoutout. “I’m excited to share that #TheEqualizer has been renewed for Season 2!!” she wrote. “Thank you to our amazing fans for supporting and watching us every week, we can’t wait for you to see what we have coming up ❤️❤️❤️.”

The renewal came in early March after the CBS drama series aired only four episodes. According to TVLine, when The Equalizer premiered in early February after Super Bowl LV, a total of 20 million viewers tuned in to watch.
