COVID-19 Vaccination Rates In Cuyahoga County As Delta Spreads!

Approximately 51 percent of all Ohioans have started the COVID-19 vaccination process, the state health department says

More than 56 percent of all Cuyahoga County residents have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

As the delta variant drives a renewed surge of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations around the state, officials have been urging all eligible Ohioans to get a vaccine as soon as possible. Currently, 51.06 percent of all Ohioans have received at least one COVID-19 dose.

Cuyahoga County’s vaccination rates outpace the state averages. The Ohio Department of Health said 696,953 Cuyahoga County residents have received at least one COVID-19 dose.

More than half of all Cuyahoga County residents (52.21 percent) have completed the COVID-19 vaccination process. That means 644,827 Cuyahoga County residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Statewide, 47.19 percent of all Ohioans have completed the vaccination process.

Last Friday, Ohio broke its own summer record for most COVID-19 cases confirmed in 24 hours, with 3,783 new cases recorded. The Buckeye State had been averaging 2,263 new cases per day. To put into perspective how quickly the delta variant of COVID-19 has reversed the state’s fortunes: On July 7, Ohio had a case rate of 17.6 per 100,000 residents
