Cleveland boxers come home to host ‘K.O. in Ohio’

Fight fans get ready! A night of non-stop fistic action comes to you in the form of back-to-back bouts otherwise known as “The K.O. in Ohio.” In the spirit of Juneteenth, Bey Bros. Promotions will host the first of the “K.O. in Ohio” boxing series Friday, June 17 at Mig’s Pla-Mor Roller Rink, 22466 Shore Center Dr. in Euclid. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Famed boxer Mickey Bey and his younger brother Cortez Bey have spent more than the last decade in Las Vegas making breakthroughs in boxing. Now, they feel it’s the time to come back home and give up-and-coming fighters from their innercity E. 93 St. neighborhood to the cornfields of southern Ohio a platform to showcase their talents to the world. After linking up through a mutual friend, Cortez and Miguel “Mig” Sanders quickly discovered they had the mutual desire to funnel top-notch boxing events into the city. As a result, the two businessmen joined forces to produce this exciting night of competition just in time to kick off Juneteenth weekend.

This is a five-fight card rich with a field of Ohio talent including… Cleveland’s own amateur standout turned pro fighter Amir Mason will lace up the gloves for combat. He is the oldest of the infamous Mason Brothers – all from Cleveland and have been making a name for themselves in the world of boxing. Alliance, Ohio’s own Ryizeemmion Ford serves as the main event and promises not to disappoint. Also making appearances are Brandon Vega (who will be making his professional debut), Filipino fighter Joseph Ambo, and heavyweight Dajuan Calloway amongst others.

A number of special treats and guest appearances such as Cleveland’s own, No. 11 (IBF) ranked super lightweight Montana “Too Pretty” Love and fresh from a scheduled fight in Dubai, former IBF lightweight champion Mickey “The Spirit” Bey. Do yourself a favor and pencil this dynamic event into your calendar. Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com and start at $60.00.

Cortez Bey of Bey Bros. Promotions and boxers Amir Mason and Ryizeemmion Ford are all available for interviews beginning Monday, May 23.  If you are interested in scheduling an interview as well as requesting press credentials for the June 17 event, please contact:
