Comedian, actor, and producer Chris Rock (pictured right) has been tapped to host one of America’s most popular weekly TV shows for the third time in his career.

According to a Thursday (September 24) column in New York Magazine’s Vulture, Rock, 55, is making another return to host Saturday Night Live on NBC. The weekend evening show updated its official Twitter page with a new post, which announced that its three-time host Rock will be at the helm of the show’s October 3 broadcast.

Rock’s special musical guest will be none other than the recent TIME Magazine-endorsed hip-hop artist Megan Thee Stallion (pictured left). Megan, 25, was just labeled by the long-running publication as one of its “100 Most Influential People of 2020.” Teaming up with Rock for his historic entertainment run on Saturday Night Live certainly adds to Megan’s growing acumen in the music industry.

The movie star and comedic legend’s return to late-night television come after his recent success with Netflix. In the process of returning to the stage for another stand-up road tour a few years ago, Rock signed a two-series deal with the film streaming giant that was reportedly worth around $40 million dollars.

Rock was a part of the featured cast of characters lineup on Saturday Night Live from 1989 to 1993. During this time, he also was a co-star in popular films of the era, such as CB4 and New Jack City. The first time Rock hosted Saturday Night Live was in 1994. He made his second hosting gig official 20 years later in 2014.

As for Megan, her October 3 headlining performance for Saturday Night Live will be the first in her career. The popular female rap MC makes her debut on NBC’s franchise show on the cusp of a very successful year, which has reaped two number-one Billboard Top 200-charting singles and a double-platinum EP.

All of the Saturday Night Live cast members from last season are returning this fall, Vulture reports.
