The popular event will bring more than 1,000 lights, acrobatic performances, and delicious food to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
The popular Asian Lantern Festival will return to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on July 14.
The festival will run Thursday through Sunday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The final day of the festival is Sept. 5. There will also be limited Wednesday evening drive-thru opportunities.
This is the fourth year the event will take over the zoo. More than 1,000 lanterns, live acrobatic performances and culturally-inspired cuisine will highlight the festival this year. There will be 70 large-scale displays this year, creating an entirely different experience from last year for attendees.
“Asian Lantern Festival has become a summer staple in Cleveland, drawing over 150,000 guests each year to experience the wonder of Cleveland Metroparks Zoo after dark,” said Cleveland Metroparks Chief Marketing Officer Kelly Manderfield. “We’re thankful for the tremendous support of Meijer to help bring an all new festival, with new lanterns, performances and experiences in the event’s fourth year.”
The festival will include acrobats every hour on the Fifth Third Bank Stage, including foot jugglers, contortionists, martial arts practitioners and more. There will also be an Asian craft market, featuring inspired cuisine from local favorites like Li Wah, King Wah, and others.
“Meijer is excited to support this community-focused event that continues to impress and awe local families each summer,” said Cathy Cooper, Senior Director of Community Partnerships and Giving at Meijer. “We look forward to seeing the Asian Lantern Festival experience elevated to all new heights at this year’s event.”
